Guidelines for Participation in 1447AH I'tikaf
(Shabab Ijtihad Central Mosque)

1. Obligatory Acts:

Stay in the masjid; leaving without a valid reason invalidates I’tikaf.
Prioritize salah, Qur'an recitation, dhikr, and seeking forgiveness.

2. Permitted Activities:

Speak briefly on permissible topics without indulging in worldly matters.

3. Acts That Invalidate I’tikaf:

Leaving the masjid without a Shari’ah-compliant reason.
Engaging in sinful acts, such as gossip or backbiting.

4. Prohibited Practices:

Excessive conversations or non-beneficial activities.
Using the masjid for trade or other worldly pursuits.

5. Special Notes for Women:

Women need permission from a guardian or husband before registration is approved.
Must exit the masjid upon menstruation.
Nursing mothers are not allowed to observe I’tikaf in the masjid.

6. Valid Excuses to Leave the Masjid:

Medical emergencies or unavoidable needs.

7. Etiquette of I’tikaf:

Maintain cleanliness and respect the sanctity of the masjid.
Refrain from idle talk or distractions.

8. Group activities Rule:

Participation in group activities is mandatory for everyone except the Hufaz and elders.

9. Penalty for Flouting Rules:

Anyone who flouts these rules will be evicted from the I’tikaf program.
